He Ye, Lotus (Nelumbo Nucifera) is an herbaceous perennial amphibian plant with a powerful creeping, branching, thick and knotty rhizome with numerous roots. The plant has two types of leaves: underwater and surface. Floating leaves have a flat plate, standing - funnel-shaped. Surface leaves are covered with a waxy coating, so the liquid slides from them. They are dark green above, and pale green below. Single bisexual lotus flowers reach 25-30 centimeters across. The blossoming flowers are bright pink, but over time they fade and become pale pink, and before the petals fall, they are almost white. Numerous walnut-shaped lotus petals are blunt, elliptical or oblong, arranged spirally.
